Group Accountant
(Johor)
Responsibilities:
Job function is to manage, supervise and oversee the Corporate Office and the entire accounting, finance and human resource/ payroll functions of the Group as follows:
- As Head of Corporate Office and report directly to Managing Director.
- Assist and advise Managing Director on strategic planning of the Group.
- Responsible to ensure monthly closing and review of accounts for 6 business units/ operations within the Group.
- Responsible for the overall cash flow management and centralised finance function of the Group.
- Responsible for the general human resource function and monthly payroll of the Group.
- Supervise and manage a group of accounting and finance staff on accounting, finance and human resource/ payroll functions of the Group.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial and costing analysis of various business operations within the Group.
- Prepare quarterly and yearly group accounts, consolidated financial statements, group performance analysis, budget, financial forecast and projection.
- Present quarterly and yearly group performance and financial results to Audit Committee and Board of Directors for announcement to Bursa Securities.
- Prepare annual report and organize Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Monitor and review the performance of General Managers/ Managers on their performance in various business operations within the Group.
- Advise and liaise with General Managers and Managers to solve operational issues.
- Co-ordinate with respective subsidiaries in the implementation of financial controls to achieve standardised accounting, finance and human resource/ payroll practices.
- Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance, compliance with Bursa Securities Main Market Listing Requirements and Securities Commission rules and regulations.
- Lead and take charge of corporate exercises undertaken by the Group.
- Ensure all accounting matters comply with statutory requirements on Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
- Ensure to meet tight deadlines on all financial reporting, tax and other statutory submission to relevant authorities.
- Ensure to meet tight deadlines on general announcements and quarterly results announcements to Bursa Securities.
- Liaise with external/ internal auditors, company secretaries, regulatory authorities such as Bursa Securities and Securities Commission and other parties to ensure compliance with all matters relating to audit, tax and statutory requirements.
- Any other ad-hoc assignments e.g. business analysis.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a Degree in Accountancy or related professional qualification or ACCA/ CIMA/ CPA or its equivalent.
- Preferably member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
- At least 5 - 8 years of working experience in the field of accounting, finance and external audit are required for this position.
- Knowledge/ experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, consolidation of group of accounts, corporate exercise, company secretarial, etc.
- Familiar with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), Bursa Securities Main Market Listing Requirements and other relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Good management and leadership skills to lead a team of accounting and finance staff to meet reporting deadline.
- Possess high level of communication, presentation, critical thinking and strategic planning skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills to work effectively with management teams across functions and subsidiaries.
- Candidates with experience as Head of Accounting and Finance in public listed company will have an added advantage.
Candidates must be willing to be based in Johor (Parit Yaani, Batu Pahat) and travel within Malaysia on a short notice.
