PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
(Port of Tanjung Pelepas)
Responsibilities:
1.0 Overall Function
- Responsible for the overall production and control of all the production activities in the shift.
- To ensure the production meets the quality and productivity targets.
- Provide effective leadership and motivation to ensure continuous availability of trained competent workforce through training and motivation.
- To ensure the production have smooth communication system or feedback relevant among the shift and to the superiors.
- To contribute in achieving the relevant quality, safety, health and environmental objectives and goals set by management.
2.0 Duties and Responsibilities
- To lead a group of operators to achieve in daily output and quality standard in the production.
- Assist the Production Manager in guiding and training the production operators / line leaders in their various job functions and solve day to day problem.
- Involve in problem solving and troubleshooting processes to reduce production related problems and delays.
- Ensure the process run smoothly and efficiently, reduce material waste and in-process rejects.
- Able to check all machines set-up to ensure correctness, availability and satisfactory conditions.
- Ensure all operations are carried out as per standard operating procedure and the work instruction.
- Responsible to motivate subordinates to achieve department goals and ensure sufficient utilization of resources in meeting the production plan.
- Responsible to work closely with other department in resolving quality problems.
- Able to plan and control production inventory to optimize higher productivity.
- Responsible to maintain good housekeeping and subordinates discipline.
- Ensure the work area free from hazards to ensure operators’ safety.
- Responsible to communicate relevant quality and environment objectives and goals to subordinates.
- Able to show role examples to line leaders / operators in term of discipline, attitude, commitment, attendance and leadership.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical or other engineering disciplines.
- at least 3 years and above in supervising production staff
- Ability in problem solving, good leadership and communication skill at all level.
- Knowledge in ISO 9001 and SPC tools is preferred.
