BNP Paribas has been present in Malaysia since 1973.
In 1993, BNP Paribas opened the Labuan Offshore Banking Unit and started its Corporate Finance and Equities Research activities. Then in 2007, BNP Paribas launched its Asset Management activities and in 2009 its Islamic Asset Management activities.
BNP Paribas was one of five foreign banks and the only European bank in 2010 to receive a full commercial licence in Malaysia, marking 40 years of continuous expansion in the country.
In 2012, BNP Paribas began operating as the Islamic banking hub for Asia Pacific with dedicated specialists teams to offer customised, award-winning, and Sharia compliant Islamic financial solutions to clients across the region.
Our international network and local expertise allows us to provide corporate and institutional clients tailored offerings in corporate and investment banking, including debt capital markets, in both conventional and Islamic banking.
